2. Harriet from tobyandroo.com

Herstory:

Cheers for another mum blogger in the UK making hisherstory!

When I first came across Harriet’s blog, I was immediately drawn by her wittiness and self-deprecating humor. Reading her “About” page, it was as if I was meeting her in person, a mum who is trying to figure out this thing called parenting while catching the humor side of challenges. She tells it as it is, and has me in stitches…

Harriet was a retailer who worked in Mothercare, a UK children’s merchant store. With her years of knowledge on children’s products and a passion for sharing all fun things to do with kids, Harriet started her blog tobyandroo.com. Now a mother of 3 children and running an award-winning blog, she is juggling between school runs and enjoying interacting with the community she created around the world.

Her blog niche: Women’s lifestyle Monthly Income:

How long did it take to make over $10,000/month? Not disclosed

3. Grace from chasingfoxes.com

Herstory:

Grace found herself living pay-check by pay-check back in 2016. She started her blog chasingfoxes.com just so she could get out of the financial struggles she was in and have enough money to travel. 4 months after starting the blog, she was making enough money that her husband – Silas was able to quit his corporate job.

Now owning a business together as a husband and wife team while traveling the world (I’m starting to see a trend here…), Grace and Silas blog a wide range of topics that matters to modern women, from style advice to Food and Drinks, from beauty hacks to money advice. While the main stream of blogging guru advocates for concentrating a specific niche, Grace has demonstrated how to be successful while covering many niches in one blog!

I enjoy reading her articles as most of them are short and to the point. Perfect for busy people on the go, wanting to know and learn how to be more productive and efficient in life. With their online success, now Grace is focusing on helping people to start their own profitable blogs.

  • The more you put into the blog, the better results you get. Grace and Silas joined force to build the blog together. The profit growth from the blog is a result of that.
  • You CAN follow your passion; the trick is to figure out how to make money from it.

4. Becca from boostmybudget.com

Herstory:

Becca is an upcoming UK personal finance blogger who started her journey in 2016. She also just recently became a mother – congratulations and welcome to motherhood!

Becca started her journey from a place where she was constantly worried about not having enough money. To take control of the anxiety and fear, she started to investigate different ways of making extra money on top of her day job.

Being a UK blogger myself, when I found Becca’s blog boostmybudget.com a couple of years back, I stalked every piece of her case study on how to make money online and read every piece of advice she offered!

To me she came across like “the girl next door who I can trust”. And trust me, this girl tried pretty much EVERYTHING under the sun on how to make money. Rather than telling people how to make money online, I love her open and honest way of sharing her experience on the successes, failures and recommendations. It has been so inspiring to watch her grow from a starter blogger to a business owner over the past 3 short years.

Her blog niche: personal finance
Monthly Income: >
£3,400/month in October 2018 ($4,193/month)
How long did it take to make over $10,000/month?
Based on the rate Becca’s blog is growing from Oct 2016 to Oct 2018, she must be very close to achieve this milestone if not already.

Main income stream:
 Affiliate marketing, Displayed Advertising
3 Inspiring nuggets:

  • Take control of your fear by taking actions
  • Be yourself and let it come across in what you write
  • Just try things, even if it might not work but you will always learn something from it.

Conclusion:

OK, if you are still with me by now, I hope these women have demonstrated that making money (a lot of it) online through blogging is achievable. I hope you also feel inspired by their stories.

Blogging is not a get rich fast route. It takes time to build the foundation. This was apparent from the above income reports of the successful bloggers. Ones it builds momentum, it snowballs. Typically, it takes about 6-12month, before it becomes profitable. So it is important to pick a niche that you are passionate about to blog. Hi Chloe, thank you for sharing those inspiring women bloggers! I feel motivated after reading their story. I actually hoped to see if there are any successful blogger outside high-traffic niche like personal finance, travel, beauty, and making money online or internet marketing. Maybe you can cover in sometime later? Will check again your blog later. Thanks

      Hi,

Thanks for stopping by! You certainly don’t need a high traffic blog to be profitable. I came across many successful ones with a small niche audience. It’s all about how to court them =)

Thanks for the suggestion on future topic on this and welcome back anytime!

      All the best,

      Chloe

  2. Donny

    Hello Chloe

I also had this question and I’m currently running a blog that earns me about 200 from ads per month, too bad I chosee I niche I couldn’t really sell anything. Anyways I just got started on a blog I can sell something and I’m still wondering how much I will  be able to make and how long it will take me. I liked the Michelle story mainly because I you want to be a full time world traveller so.

    so inspiring, thank you

    1. Chloe

      Dear Donny,

      Thanks for stopping by!

To answer your question about how much you can make on your blog and how long it will take… I think it will depend on a lot of variables. I wish I have a crystal ball, but all I can share what I have learned from researching all these successful bloggers. It takes average of 6-12 month of consistent hard work of putting quality contents out in order to build an audience base, getting ranked by search engine etc. I think once you’ve earn the trusts from your audience, you can pretty much sell anything. Once your blog starts to pick up momentum, the 2nd and 3rd year is when it really snowballs. Looking at the 5 bloggers in the article, they are making between $2,000-10,000 on the 2nd year.

      Good luck and keep hustling!

      Chloe

  3. Paul

    Hi,

Thanks for the Great inspiring post! This has to be motivating, not only for me but also for many others.

To be honest, before reading your article, I was reading some income reports of bloggers and when I came across your article, I am really amazed.

I am a full-time blogger working from home, at the moment I am earning very less. However, when I read it took many months for these legends to achieve these great earnings, I am inspired. Since June 2019 I started working on my blog regularly so it’s just been only 4 months as you mentioned it will take 6-12 months I strongly believe I can make it happen.

You have given great value in this article and thanks for sharing.

    1. Chloe

      Hi Paul,

Thanks for sharing your very own experience! Sounds like you are in that building foundation stage. It’s gritty and it may take some time. It builds the characters of who we are and helps us to become the success stories we will be. I truly thinks that WA is the best platform to help us to get there!

      Keep hustling my friend.

  4. Stella

Was, these are inspiring success stories of how bloggers are making way into financial independence through blogging. It is certain that these doesn’t happen to them in just a day. It was there commitment, sacrifice, quality time and patience that makes these amazing outcome. I hope I can one of them very soon. Thanks for this inspiring review. It will go a long way in helping people navigate their ways in the online business world.

    1. Chloe

It is certainly a great path if you are in for the long run. This is the path I’ve taken after long considerations and weighing the pros and cons. I want to help people who are still making the decisions, by laying out all the facts!

      Thanks for stopping by Stella.

  5. Michel

Thank you for these very inspiring stories. These ladies must be doing this full time as I have been blogging for a number of years part time now and don’t make even half of these claimed amounts. Maybe if I had to do it full time it would be a different story.

Another reason could be that I am in the wrong niche or my niche site is too broad.

    1. Chloe

      Hi Michel,

Thanks for sharing your experience. Some of these ladies did start part time before they decided to go full time. You are correct that the more effort and time, the greater result, but that may not be for everyone. I am too blogging part time on top of a very demanding job and 2 young children. That’s all I can manage at the moment, and I know the pace will not be as fast as others but it’s a pace that works for me.

Thanks again for stopping by and best of luck!

  6. Carmen

An excellent motivational post Chloe. I have been in WA for 9 months, I have learned a lot, but I don’t know much more lol. Sometimes I come to give up. But when I want to give up, someone or something emerges to motivate me to move on. Thanks for sharing.

    All the best to you

    1. Chloe

Building foundation is hard and it takes time. We all need some motivation from time to time. Glad this helped you!

All the best and keep hustling!

  7. Laura

I really liked the blog with the 3 women who are earning cash. My question is will I ever earn any money online doing what I do. After 7 months of over full-time work, it seems I am no closer to earning money than I was 5 months ago. My Niche is 1. I have an online art gallery and painting supplies Store with blogs about different types of paintings and products. 2. I have a store for Mamas and babies. I blog about the baby’s development and what happens to a woman when she is pregnant.
So are you saying that unless you repeatedly write blogs selling wealthy Affiliate that you won’t make any cash?
My problem is I do not have any cash for ads online. I try to use about 45.00 a month. But it is not enough to get be any traffic. And I can not get anyone to give me their email.

I realize that you can not answer my question, but some hints from someone would be nice. Congrats on your success. Keep up the good work.

    1. Chloe

      Hi Laura,
I feel your pain… starting an online business is hard, and takes time. A lot of successful online bloggers didn’t make any money during their first 6-12 months, including the women on this post. I think it’s even harder to do this as a side hustle on top of a 9 to 5 job. I am on the same boat, so I am speaking from my own experience.

If time is your biggest enemy, I would suggest perhaps choose 1 website to concentrate on instead of 2?

You don’t have to promote Wealthy Affiliate to make money at all. It is an option only if you choose to. By joining Wealthy Affiliate, it provides all the tools and training that you need to be profitable. In fact, there are specific trainings within the platform to help you to grow your email list.

      I hope this was helpful.
All the best and keep hustling!
